Safe & Well Oxford is a community engagement initiative, mandated by the Province of Ontario, to develop a Community Safety & Well-being Plan for municipalities across Oxford. The new Community Safety & Well-being Plan will address priority risks, such as mental and physical health, housing and addictions, with proactive, integrated strategies for children, youth, adults, older adults and families who live, work and participate in our communities.
We are living through unprecedented times, pulling together to fight the COVID-19 virus and protect the health of our residents, build community resiliency and safeguard economic vitality. In the months and years ahead, the impacts of the pandemic will shape and shift how we live, work and connect and we need to be the architects of our shared future.
The program needs to hear from as many Oxford County residents as possible in order to create a plan that meets the needs of residents. Until December 31st, 2020, you can share your hopes, concerns, fears and insights on community safety, health and well-being in municipalities across Oxford. Some of the issues in the survey are housing and homelessness, mental health and crime prevention.
There are a few different ways you can get involved. Individuals can go to safewelloxford.ca and click on “Take the Survey.” It takes just a few minutes to complete and provides an opportunity for residents to give input on how to make their communities safer and a better place to live. If you are a service provider, business or community group, the website has tool kids that will assist in facilitating a virtual meeting or a small in-person gathering (that follows social distancing of course) with your employees, clients or neighbours.
Participating in this initiative is a great way for you to have your voice heard and help shape the future of your community. Click Here to take the survey until December 31st, 2020.
