Advocacy
Throughout our 2021 strategic action planning session, it was clear that a new area for focus was emerging.
Our Board had robust discussions around the various challenges facing our rural communities, in Oxford County and beyond. With all the economic uncertainty and desire to be a part of the solution, the sentiment that we need to have a rural voice, and the realization that we, Rural Oxford Economic Development, have an opportunity to evolve and grow in this direction.
We agreed to thoughtfully take our time to immerse ourselves into deeper understanding of strategic issues, and to create and use our collective voice to advocate on matters that affect our rural economies.
We will develop and refine this skill over time.
We will actively engage with community partners already advocating for rural Ontario- ROI, ROMA, SCOR, WOWC. Our goal is to support, not duplicate.
Expansion Support
We’re here to assist you as you explore business growth ideas and navigate local planning and development processes. We help potential investors and developers with research and access to local knowledge.
Where needed, we facilitate pre-consultation dialog in collaboration with area Chief Building Officials and Oxford County’s Development Planner prior to the formal submission of a project application.
