The “Oxford Connection Fam Tour Re-launch” has been named a finalist for the Economic Developers Council of Ontario’s Investment Attraction – Urban Award.
The EDCO Awards of Excellence is an annual program and looks for distinctive ideas and initiatives that can become economic development best practices of the future. Winners in each category are eligible to receive the Lieutenant-Governors’ Best of Show Award for outstanding effort in economic development.
Rural Oxford Economic Development is honoured to be recognized and proud to be sharing a finalist position with our urban peers.
In 2020, the Rural Oxford Economic Development Board approved Staff’s proposal to undertake a significant digital asset inventory project, which resulted in three unique video series designed to showcase the dynamic people, businesses and communities across Rural Oxford.

These digital assets feature our unique communities, investment attraction amenities and breathtaking splendour found across Oxford County and the South Central Ontario Region.
And Scott Summerhayes- the creative director and videographer we contracted, really did a phenomenal job bringing that vision to life.” says Jim Pickard, Board Chair.

The Oxford Connection group is a long-standing informal collaboration between the Ingersoll, Rural Oxford, Tillsonburg, and Woodstock economic development teams with a focus on shared investment attraction activities including the popular bi-annual in-person Fam Tour event, that had been running for decades, prior to the pandemic.
The “Oxford Connection Fam Tour Re-launch” was submitted to EDCO by Tillsonburg economic development and highlighted the group’s combined effort of returning to hosting the in-person Fam Tour for 50 guests (realtors, developers, site selectors, ministry investment partners) in September 2022, and the quality investment attraction video series that can be shared by our regional partners for years to come.
