Province Invests in Manufacturing in Norwich to Boost Regional Economy

Ontario supports more a $4.5 million project in Norwich with $500,000 from Regional Development Program

OXFORD — The Ontario government is supporting an investment of $4,500,000 by VDK Group Inc. in Norwich Township to strengthen the regional manufacturing sector and attract new investments to the local economy while supporting the province’s economic growth. The province is investing $500,000 through the Regional Development Program, which will help create up to 25 new jobs and retain 56.

Today, Ernie Hardeman, Member of Provincial Parliament for Oxford, announced VDK Group is receiving $500,000 to expand its existing facility and add automated equipment.

“Since taking office, our government has sent a clear message that Ontario is open for business and open for jobs,” said MPP Hardeman. “We’re creating an environment where businesses can focus on what they do best — developing great products and services and building successful companies. It’s great to see VDK Group expand and invest in automation. VDK Group is playing a part in creating jobs and boosting the economy of Oxford and Ontario.”

VDK Group manufactures residential doors, agriculture/commercial entrance doors, curtain wall and aluminum windows.

Ontario is investing more than $100 million through the Regional Development Program from 2019 to 2023 to support distinct regional priorities and challenges. The program provides cost-shared funding to businesses, municipalities and economic development organizations to help local communities attract investment, diversify their economies, and create jobs.
