Supporting the success of rural downtown businesses remains a top priority for Rural Oxford Economic Development. This summer, we’re taking that commitment on the road through a collaborative business outreach initiative designed to strengthen connections with entrepreneurs across Oxford County.
Rural Oxford Economic Development is partnering with The Small Business Centre and Community Employment Services to visit 20 rural downtown businesses throughout the region. The aim of this road show is to build and strengthen local relationships, learn about each business owners’ goals, and connect them with valuable programs, services, and resources that can help them grow and thrive.
These visits are also an opportunity to celebrate the incredible businesses that make our communities unique. During each stop, we’ll meet the people behind the scenes, hear their stories, and highlight their efforts and ambitions through a special Business Spotlight feature that will be shared with the community.
Our first round of visits will take us to Thamesford, Mt. Elgin, Drumbo, Tavistock, and Norwich. Whether you’ve recently opened your doors, have exciting plans for the future, or simply want to share your story, we’d love to meet you.
By connecting directly with business owners, we hope to better understand the opportunities and challenges they face while ensuring they have access to the support available through our partner organizations. These conversations help shape future economic development efforts and strengthen the vibrant business communities that make Rural Oxford such a great place to live, work, and shop.
