A Seat at the Table: Rural Mayors Breakfast Coming to Tavistock

Some of the most important conversations happen over a good meal. On Wednesday, April 15th, Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation and the Tavistock Chamber of Commerce are bringing together three of northern Oxford County’s municipal mayors for a morning worth getting up early for.

The Rural Mayors Breakfast takes place at Quehl’s Restaurant, 33 Woodstock Street South in Tavistock, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am – and it’s open to local entrepreneurs, business owners, and community members who want to hear directly from regional leadership.

Who’s at the table?

Mayor Phil Schaefer, Mayor Mark Peterson, and Mayor Marcus Ryan will join a moderated fireside chat – an open, conversational format designed to spark real dialogue. Whether you have questions about local development, business conditions, or where your township is headed, this is a rare chance to ask them in the room.

The morning runs like this:

  • 8:00 am – Doors open; check-in and networking
  • 8:20 am – Opening remarks from Rural Oxford Economic Development Corporation and the Tavistock Chamber
  • 8:30 am – Buffet breakfast
  • 9:00 am – Fireside chat with the three mayors, moderated by Andrew Raymer, Tavistock Chamber Chair

How to join

Space is limited to 60 guests. Tickets are $35 per person –  and as a bonus, proceeds support a community sign project the Tavistock Chamber has been working on, so your ticket does double duty.

Why it matters

Rural Oxford is home to some of the most resilient and resourceful businesses in Southwestern Ontario. Events like this one exist because that resilience doesn’t happen in isolation – it grows when business owners and municipal leaders are in conversation with each other. This breakfast is a chance to strengthen those connections, ask the questions on your mind, and leave with a clearer picture of what’s happening across our region.

We’re proud to co-host this event alongside the Tavistock Chamber of Commerce, and we hope to see many familiar – and new – faces around the table.
