Oxford County’s most popular employment website, WorkinOxford.ca, has been expanded and improved so users can more easily post jobs, find work and volunteer opportunities, and access entrepreneurial support.
The new website, the culmination of cooperation between Oxford Workforce Development Partnership, Employment Ontario, County of Oxford and Community Employment Services, is designed to support the community’s economy and respond to employers’ needs.
WorkinOxford.ca with its broader vision of work in Oxford County has evolved from community input and leadership in electronic media best practices. It allows employers to post jobs, not-for-profit organizations to post volunteer positions and gives both jobseekers and volunteers a one-stop resource to find positions that suit them.
Employers have more options when posting a job and jobseekers now have the ability to streamline their search geographically, through category or type of posting and date posted. There’s easy access to a virtual counsellor and quick contact to Community Employment Services and other Employment Ontario offices.
Entrepreneurs, whether just starting out or already established, will find an array of supports on the website from where to find financing to succession planning.

“The evolution of WIO is a direct response to the tremendous utilization from employers and job seekers. The site can now support the timely integration of job-seekers into our local workforce. It also enriches the search parameters for local employers to support their access to skilled labour to ensure their businesses continue to grow and thrive into the future.”
