Unbelievably Good: Berrylicious Fruit Farm at Discover Rural Oxford

Some farm stories start with generations of family land. Wendy and Don Colcuc’s story starts with a depleted tobacco field and a vision.

Berrylicious Fruit Farm near Burgessville began in 2002, when Wendy and Don — two horticulture graduates who met at the University of Guelph, both raised with deep roots in farming and food preservation — bought their property and planted their first pumpkins. From that starting point, they’ve grown Berrylicious into a full-season family farm destination, one crop at a time.

Today, the farm spans five acres of blueberries, a quarter-acre of raspberries, seven acres of elderberries, 400 apple trees planted in 2022, and two acres of pumpkins and fresh vegetables. Visitors can pick their own throughout the season, buy fresh or frozen berries year-round at the retail stand, and take home jams, pies, elderberry syrup, freeze-dried berries, and sparkling beverages made right on the farm.

The farm experience goes well beyond picking. Berrylicious offers a range of on-farm experiences, including their Marian’s Country Tea — an outdoor high tea in the blueberry patch named after Wendy’s late mother, whose tradition of hospitality has shaped how the Colcuc family welcomes guests to this day. This experience has been recognized as one of Ontario’s Southwest’s Signature Experiences.

Berrylicious also has a generous community spirit: they donate frozen berries to Operation Sharing in Woodstock to support food-insecure community members, and Wendy volunteers regularly in the Operation Sharing soup kitchen in the off-season.

At Discover Rural Oxford, running September 15–17, 2026 in the Rural Pavilion at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, visitors will be able to purchase Berrylicious preserves, pies, and sparkling beverages in person.
