Plaid Shirt Farms is owned by Patricia and her family, who grow rhubarb, red and black currants, and haskap berries on their farm near Otterville. Haskaps are the farm’s standout crop, and once you taste one, it’s easy to understand why. The flavour has been described as a mix of raspberry and blueberry, with some tasters even picking up a trace of plum. However you describe it, the consensus is the same: it’s delicious.
What started as a family farm has grown into a product line available well beyond the farm gate. Plaid Shirt Farms products can now be found in more than 18 different retailers across southwestern Ontario, including jams, juices, and sparkling beverages made from their own haskaps and currants.
At Discover Rural Oxford, running September 15–17, 2026, visitors will get to taste a range of what Plaid Shirt Farms offers, including their jams, beverages, and a brand-new addition to their lineup: salad dressings.
