If you love a good pint with a side of personality, Mad Mash Brewery is one stop you won’t want to skip at this year’s Discover Rural Oxford. Owners Chad and John have built a Scottish-themed brew pub in Tavistock that pairs scratch-made comfort food with beer brewed using local ingredients — and they’re bringing a taste of it to the event.
Mad Mash’s menu leans into hearty, classic pub fare: think scratch-made meat pies, bangers and mash, and other Scottish and UK-inspired dishes alongside their rotating lineup of house-brewed beer. It’s the kind of place that feels like it’s been part of the community for decades, even as the business continues to grow.
Speaking of growth, Mad Mash is expanding. A second location is in the works at Stonehaven Golf Course in Embro, which means even more people across Oxford County will get a chance to experience what’s made the Tavistock location a local favourite.
